Drivesports is a world class badminton academy focused on providing the ultimate training to badminton enthusiasts and athletes. Our mantra has always been to teach the virtues of life through badminton: perseverance, team work, and building a strong character. Our Club has won numerous medals provincially, nationally, and on the world stage since 2010. Our team consists of over twenty professionals with a top tier BWF (world) ranking, provincial or national ranking and NCCP certification.



KEVIN LEE, Head Coach
Kevin Lee is the head coach of Drivesports and member of Team Canada. He is one of the best, if not the best doubles and mixed doubles player in Canada and ranked #37 in the world (BWF). He is a gold medalist in men's doubles at the 2023 Yonex Canada National Championship in 2022 and 2023 and ranked #1 in Canada. He has also won gold in mixed doubles at the Yonex Canada National Championship in 2023. In 2022 he represented Canada at the Pan American Games, in 2023 Thomas Cup in Thailand, Sudirman Cup in 2023, and will represent Canada at the 2024 All England.

TIMOTHY LEE, Senior Coach
Timothy Lee was Canada's former #1 doubles player in the u19 age category in Canada (2015), semi-finalist u19 men's doubles at the 2015 BWF Canada Junior International. Along with his partner Jin Kim, they have also won ASAA High School Provincial Championship three years in a row, and won two gold medals at the Yonex Alberta Provincial Junior Championship in u15 and u17 categories. Finalist in boys doubles at Yonex Canada National Junior Championship, and represented Team Canada in Junior Pan American (PAN-AM) Games. Instructor since 2016.

OSCAR WANG, Senior Coach
Coach Wang joined Drivesports in 2013. He has won numerous competitions as a player and has taught more than three hundred students. Oscar is a NCCP certified coach registered with Badminton Alberta. His students have won numerous gold medals at AJC Provincial Championships.

EYOTA KWAN, Senior Coach
Selected to be on Team Canada for Junior Pan American (PANAM) Games in 2016. Alberta Junior Provincial winner in singles and mixed doubles. Collegiate gold medalist in Canada. Achieved highest rank #1 women's double Alberta. BWF ranked. Ms Kwan is an accomplished athlete.

BRANDON TANG, Senior Coach
Brandon is a gold medalist in singles at the ASAA High School Provincial Championship and is a dedicated coach with a passion for developing players' smashes and enhancing their singles game strategy. With a focus on training Competition II athletes Brandon also actively engages in sparring sessions with our competition players. Bringing his expertise and experience as an instructor since 2017.

EASTON WATSON, Senior Coach
Easton was a former Canada #3 singles player in u17. He has won over 3 provincial championships and most recently he took 1st place at the 2022 Yonex Alberta Junior Championship in the u19 singles category. Easton has been with Drivesports for over 10 years and has been an instructor since 2021. Currently training in Dubai (UAE)

ELIANA ZHANG, International Sparring Instructor
One of the top four women singles player's in Canada with a BWF Tour Ranking of #67 (2023), Ms. Zhang is a high level sparring and technical instructor. She spends her time in between Montreal and Calgary when she is not competing internationally. While in Calgary, she is working with our junior and senior girls athletes.

Mr. // is one of Hong Kong's top men's singles players and current member of Hong Kong's National Team.



ANTONIO LI, International Sparring Instructor
ANTONIO was one of Canada's top four men's singles players in 2019 (former BC top ranked men's singles and men's doubles player) and attained a top BWF rank of #195 in men's singles. He contested Lee Chong Wei (former world #1) at the BWF Canada Open. He is currently based in Calgary, Alberta.

NATHAN QUACH, Provincial Sparring Instructor
Nathan competes at a national and provincial level within Canada. In 2023, he is ranked #6 in Alberta for men’s Singles. Additionally, he is ranked #8 in the U23 men’s singles category. Nathan focuses on a good balance between developing technical and physical gaps that exist within a player. His goal is to fully develop a player in order for them to compete provincially and eventually nationally.

WONIK JIN, Provincial Sparring Instructor
Wonik is a skilled badminton player. In singles, he plays a fast flat attack style. In doubles and mixed doubles, he is one of Alberta's top ranked athletes. He served in Korea's National Army (2022). Fluent in English and Korean. 매년 앨버타 주대회와 캐나다 전국 대회에서 활약하는 선수로서 단식에서는 빠른 플랫 공격 스타일을 구사하며 복식 전문 선수로서 스매싱이 주특기인 선수입니다. 복식과 혼합복식에서는 앨버타 주에서 손꼽히는 상위랭커의 선수 입니다. 2019~2021까지 한국에서 군복무를 했으며 한국어와 영어가 능통한 코치입니다

IAN COBURN, Athletic Conditioning Director
Mr. Coburn is a Registered Kinesiologist – Canadian Kinesiology Alliance, Certified Personal Trainer (Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology) and certified in Functional Movement Systems – Functional Movement Screen, Level 2 Corrective Strategies, and Functional Breathing Assessment. He has over a decade of experiences with teens to octogenarians in positions with community gyms to elite sport.
